SUSIE JACKSON BATTY is the author of two books.
The first is "The Diary of the Lady from Devizes", which tells the story of Susie's breast cancer and the decision of Susie and her husband Andrew to move from England to Florida with their two beautiful Birman cats, called Mr d'Arcy and Pandora.
It is an uplifting and inspiring story. When Susie found that she was facing breast cancer she started to keep a daily diary and poured out all her thoughts and fears. After some time she wondered if it would be helpful to others to read of her experiences and so the diary became a book in 2004. Susie has been overwhelmed by all the messages that she has received from people who have loved her book and found it so helpful when dealing with similar traumas.
Susie's second book is called "Of Cats and Angels by Mr d'Arcy - a very special Birman cat". When Mr d'Arcy died in 2007 at the age of nineteen, Susie was desolate to lose her very special cat. She found herself at the computer and Mr d'Arcy's words stared pouring out. He tells the whole story of joining the family and of Susie's illness in his own words. He describes the move from England to Florida and all the wild life he meets along the way. It is a very entertaining and spiritual story and will be enjoyed by pet lovers everywhere.
Susie lived in London in her early twenties where she met her husband Andrew. They lived in Beaconsfield for nearly twenty years and now spend most of the year in Sarasota on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Susie had the privilege of working with the late Lord Burnham as his private secretary from 1983 for ten years, and continued with the Burnham family after his death. She enjoyed her time at Hall Barn, the private stately home in Beaconsfield, where she remained for sixteen years. In 1999 she became ill and her life underwent several changes.
The books are available from Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com and Authorhouse.
